Stay on track for graduation with guidance from our faculty advisors, who are available to help you create a four-year academic plan, declare or change a major or minor, handle a leave of absence, and build strategies for academic improvement. Our peer advising program connects first-year students with junior and senior Loggers to help you navigate your first year on campus.

Pre-Law Advising

Tailored specifically for students interested in attending law school after completing their undergraduate degrees, pre-law advising helps students with academic advising, application assistance, and resources for preparing for the LSAT.

Health Professions Advising

Health professions advising supports students in preparing for and applying to health-related professional programs including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and more through academic advising, career counseling, mock interviews, letters of evaluation, and application assistance.

The Center for Writing & Learning (CWL) provides support for your academic journey, including writing advising; subject-specific tutors; support for multilingual students; time management, organization, study, and test-taking resources; one-on-one appointments; and workshops to help you improve your writing and become a stronger student.

Digital Humanities

The Digital Humanities program brings innovative 21st century methodologies and practices to our liberal arts education and helps to increase the digital literacy of our campus community. Our consultants help students and faculty use software to rethink the way humanities are researched and taught through tools like text mining, annotated maps and timelines, data visualizations, and 3D modeling.

Slater Museum of Natural History butterfly collection

Puget Sound Museum of Natural History

Founded in 1930, the Puget Sound Museum of Natural History is one of the largest repositories of biological specimens in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to housing 75,000 mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, insect, and plant specimens, the museum is also a working laboratory supporting student and faculty research. The museum also provides science education outreach to Tacoma-area schools.

Summer Term

Taking a class during summer term lets you catch up on a college credit, get ahead of the game, try a new subject you've always wanted to try, strengthen your writing, earn a valuable transfer credit, or fulfill that promise you once made to yourself to be a lifelong learner. Summer term courses are offered at a reduced rate in condensed, six-week formats and are available to incoming students, current undergraduates, faculty, staff, and community members.

Support for Undocumented Students

At Puget Sound, we welcome students who share a commitment to academic adventure and community participation while bringing diverse backgrounds and talents to our campus, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. Undocumented students are encouraged to apply for admission, are eligible for financial aid and scholarships, and can receive additional resources and support. We’ll do everything we can to protect your privacy and do not voluntarily cooperate with immigration enforcement officials.

Travel Awards

We encourage students to share the results of their studies with the world. If your independent work is accepted for presentation at a regional or national conference, you can apply for a student travel grant of up to $500 to offset the costs of travel.

The Office of the Registrar is available to assist you with registering for classes, tracking your graduation requirements, applying transfer credit, using veteran education benefits, and accessing your transcripts or other academic records.
