Why Should I Participate?

Logger-to-Logger interactions and mentorship — both informal and formal — have the potential to powerfully impact student success.

Logger alumni are perfectly positioned to guide students. They understand both the Puget Sound experience and how a liberal arts education can prepare students for the world beyond college.

Whether you're asking or answering questions about life beyond Puget Sound, students and alumni can become a supportive part of one another's professional community — where you can share advice, encouragement, and networking connections.

A community like Logger Link benefits both students and alumni in a variety of ways, and sets the Puget Sound experience apart from other liberal arts educations.

As membership grows, the benefits will expand exponentially. Please join Logger Link today!

Alumni Information

Alumni and students have opportunities to connect within the Logger Link community without launching an "official" mentee/mentor relationship.

Students may reach out to you with questions for brief conversations based on your profile and experiences. Feel free to connect with any student that contacts you, or to answer student questions in the established Groups and Communities.

Alumni also participate in our formal matched mentorship program which will run from October 2024 - April 2025. In this program, alumni mentors and their mentees will meet regularly through Logger Link, to help guide the student during their time at Puget Sound and in their career search. Keep an eye on your inbox to sign up!

You can connect with other alumni through Logger Link to expand your network and to message one another about your shared interests or career pursuits.

Logger Link Groups help you find others who share your passions and careers, or who want to connect over a specific topic.

As part of the formal matched mentorship program, your willingness to share your unique experience qualifies you to be a mentor!

Logger Mentors serve as a guide, friend, and resource who shares their Puget Sound education and professional experience — to pave the way for students to succeed at Puget Sound and beyond.

You are NOT expected to offer jobs or internships to your mentee, or to have all of the answers.

As part of the formal matched mentorship program, you will:

  • Share your experiences and career journey.
  • Help your mentee define their own goals, and support them as they work toward those goals.
  • Be a resource to your mentee as they develop their career interests and face new challenges.
  • Make an effort to communicate regularly with your mentee and to establish a genuine relationship.
  • Do your best to advise your student to the best of your ability. You won't always have all of the answers, and that's okay.
  • Click "Join the Logger Link Community."
  • Complete your profile — you can use the same information from your LinkedIn account if you choose.
  • Verify the email that is sent to your inbox from the Logger Link system/PeopleGrove platform.
  • Wait for a Puget Sound Admin to verify your account.
  • Start exploring! Join groups, respond to student questions, connect with other Loggers, and more!
  • For the matched mentorship program, keep an eye on your inbox for information and a link to join in the fall.

You can look for a mentor based on shared experiences, their career path, location or whichever criteria speaks to you.
