Collaborative Learning with teachers and peers that includes active engagement:

  • The University of Puget Sound Occupational Therapy Program’s philosophy of learning and teaching values active and collaborative engagement with knowledge, skills, and reasoning needed to become an occupational therapist. We use “authentic learning experiences” throughout the curriculum where learning is embedded in activities and contexts relevant to occupational therapists. This promotes students’ ability to integrate theory and practice from the beginning and construct a complex understanding of occupational therapy practice necessary for developing into unique and excellent occupational therapists.
