Dear Loggers,

All students, faculty, and staff members are required to test for COVID-19 prior to arrival on campus for the spring semester, with the expectation that you will isolate in place if you test positive. If you are not leaving campus for the break, please test during the first week of January 2022.

In January, all students, faculty, and staff will be required to participate in on-campus saliva tests the week you return to campus. Ongoing randomized surveillance testing will continue throughout the spring semester.

How and When To Test

  • Step 1: Pick up your test kit. You will receive one at-home PCR test (LetsGetChecked).
  • Step 2: Complete LetsGetChecked (PCR) test five to seven (5–7) days prior to returning to campus. This can be mailed for free through United Parcel Service; mailing information and other instructions are in the box.
  • Step 3: Perform an on-campus saliva test the first week you return to campus.
    • Participate in walk-through testing in Rasmussen Rotunda Tuesday, Jan. 18–Thursday, Jan. 20, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.  -OR-
    • Drop off a saliva sample at the dropbox located upstairs in Wheelock Student Center (outside Room 208).

Thank you for observing these testing protocols to help protect the safety of all members of the campus community. A copy of these instructions is also available at pugetsound.edu/athometest.

Lastly, the CDC recommends that everyone 18 or older should receive a COVID-19 booster shot. Please get your booster as soon as you are eligible, if you have not done so already. The booster shot is currently not required, but could become mandatory as more information from the CDC and Public Health becomes available. Information about how to update your vaccination status will be provided before the start of the spring semester.

Sincerely,
