The University of Puget Sound utilizes a public health approach to promote education and awareness of the varying effects of cannabis use. Additionally, prevention efforts are geared towards helping the campus community have an accurate understanding of the prevalence and recognizing that most Loggers choose not to use cannabis.

Legalizing cannabis in Washington State and other parts of the country have contributed to a decrease in the perception of risk related to using this drug. Cannabis is an addictive substance. The use or possession of cannabis is prohibited on the Puget Sound campus in accordance with the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.
