2023 Pauling Medal Award Symposium

The Pauling Medal Award recognizes outstanding achievement in chemistry and is presented annually by the Puget Sound, Oregon, and Portland Sections of the American Chemical Society. The 2023 Pauling Medal has been awarded to Professor Laura Gagliardi, Richard and Kathy Leventhal Professor, University of Chicago. The award will be presented to Professor Gagliardi at The Pauling Medal Symposium on November 4th held at the University of Puget Sound. The symposium will include:

• student poster session  (11 a.m.-12:45 p.m., 2nd Floor Harned Colonnade);
• symposium with talks by Professor Omar Yaghi (Univ. of California - Berkeley), Professor Donald Truhlar (Univ. of Minnesota), Professor Joachim Sauer (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), and Professor Laura Gagliardi (Univ. of Chicago) (1-5:30 p.m., Schneebeck Concert Hall);
• reception and presentation of poster awards (5:30-6:50 p.m., 2nd Floor Harned Colonnade);
• award dinner, presentation of the medal, and Pauling Medal Award talk by Professor Gagliardi (7-9 p.m., Upper Marshall Hall; the dinner is a ticketed event).
