It's mythology with the grisly bits. Based on material in Ovid's Metamorphoses, the play traces Ovid's developing understanding of the women he writes, the violence of empire, and the importance of voice.

The material is heavy, but there are also funny scenes and the cast is wonderful. You will laugh and you might also cry. The very process of working with these actors has been an experience of catharsis.

It's about Rome. It's about Ovid and what he learns about what women experience when he is sent into exile and his voice is taken from him. And it is about the women in the Metamorphoses reclaiming their voices and some who even take revenge.
