This event is a great opportunity to connect and network with the Logger community and hear campus updates. You'll also get to be a lifelong learner by engaging in a presentation from Rachel Pepper, Professor of Physics, and William D. and Flora McCormick Chair in Biophysics.  Topic: Splash to Scatter: The Marvels of Raindrop-Driven Seed Dispersal The discovery of the underlying physical mechanism behind splashing has only been made in recent years, despite its common occurrence. Certain species of plants and fungi have a remarkable ability to use the energy from raindrop splashing to disperse their seeds. Puget Sound students are working to unravel the properties of these plants and their seeds that enable such impressive dispersal. In this discussion, Prof. Pepper will explain factors that cause and suppress splashing and that lead to effective seed dispersal. Appetizers, refreshments, and complimentary valet parking will be included.  Reception begins at 6 p.m. with the presentation starting at 6:30 p.m. Please submit your RSVP by Thursday, Jan. 25. We hope to see you there! Location Contact Information Nolan Ryan 253.879.1644 nryan@pugetsound.edu support@kwallcompany.com America/Los_Angeles public
