Mini Maestros: Around the World in 80 Drums
The Community Music Department partners with Symphony Tacoma to present the Mini Maestros music concert series for young children, ages 2-8 years old, and their familes. Each concert highlights a different "family" of instruments in the orchestra using a curriculum prepared by Early Childhood Learning experts and introduced by educator and emcee, Shay Ryan. There is an instrument petting zoo prior to the concert, which gives children an opporutinity to explore the instruments up close.
Take a whirlwind tour of the percussion family with the Symphony Tacoma Percussion Quartet. Explore the elements of rhythm, timber, and pulse and get an inside look at percussion instruments from around the world!
Come early for the instrument petting zoo at 1:30 p.m. in Schneebeck Concert Hall
