Mini Maestros: Peter and the Wolf

Prior to the concert, there is an instrument petting zoo to give children an opportunity to explore the musical instruments up close.  Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf tells the story of a young boy living with his grandfather in a forest clearing and the adventure he and his amimal friends have when a wolf comes through the garden gate.  Writtenas a child's introduction the the orchestra, each character is represented by a different instrument or group of instruments and features the full orchestra and a narrator to bring to life this classic tale.  Mini Maestros concerts are designed especially for children ages 2-8 years old and their families.  Come early to participate in the instrument petting zoo at 1:30 p.m. in Schneebeck Concert Hall Purchase Tickets Online From Symphony Tacoma The Community Music Department at the University of Puget Sound is a year-round program offering music lessons and classes to members of the public of all ages.
