Add to Calendar 2023-11-08 19:30:00 2023-11-08 20:45:00 World Music Concert: TRIO GUADALEVIN Since 2014, Trio Guadalevin has literally traversed the parts of the world which taken their unique sound to stages all across America, both entertaining and educating their audiences to the musical connections ranging from the Mediterranean to Mexico, employing a wealth of instruments and techniques which reimagine the musical dialogue between indigenous, European and African cultures. The ensemble takes a fresh, innovative approach to music with deep roots: from the son huasteco and son jarocho of Mexico, to Afro-Oaxacan music, Sephardic Jewish melodies, Spanish fandangos and xácaras, Arab-Andalusian song and Italian ciaccona and tarantella. Instruments including the guitar, oud, theorbo, baroque guitar, vihuela, jarana, quinta huapanguera, harp, bendir, riqq, bombo, pandero cuadrado, pandereta, teponatzli, and cajon. Their instruments create a museum-like setting for the lucky audiences who listen and learn to world music on a grand scale. Free Admission. Presented by ASUPS Performing Arts.
