Biking
Biking to and around the Puget Sound campus is fun and easy. Many residence halls have indoor bike storage rooms, along with many bike racks spread throughout campus. If you have a long bike commute, you can shower in the Fitness Center to warm up after a cold ride or freshen up before class. Want to find the most efficient way? Plan your route with the Pierce County bike map! For long trips, consider combining your bike trip with the bus, train, or ferry.
The Puget Sound Bike and Ski shop is a student-run organization within Puget Sound Outdoors (PSO) that provides free education, free bicycle repairs for Puget Sound students, reduced full-service rates for faculty and staff members, below-retail pricing on parts and accessories, and innovative programs for all members of the Puget Sound community.
Pierce County Transit
Taking the bus is fun, easy, and convenient. If you live in another city, consider taking a Sound Transit express bus to Tacoma. If you live in the city, the Pierce Transit bus system is sure to get you to campus. Whether you frequent the bus often, or ride it occasionally, it is in your best interest to acquire an ORCA Card, which is a regional bus pass that works just like cash and tracks your fares and transfers automatically.
Tip: Enjoy FREE bus fare by renting an ORCA card from the ASUPS office in Wheelock Student Center, Room 210.
