Sarah Rudolph Cole ’86
Professional Achievement (Lifetime)
Sarah Rudolph Cole ’86 majored in history at Puget Sound, where she was active in Kappa Kappa Gamma, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and won five NCAA Division II swimming championships. She went on to earn a law degree from the University of Chicago, and has established herself as one of the nation’s leading scholars in arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. She holds the Michael E. Moritz Chair in Alternative Dispute Resolution at Ohio State University. She has served as a visiting professor at Harvard University and has been elected to the prestigious American Law Institute.
Laura Heywood ’01
Professional Achievement (Mid-Career)
Laura Heywood ’01 has parlayed her theatre arts degree from Puget Sound into a career as a Broadway media influencer. She is a popular blogger, podcaster, and event host; has written for Broadway World and Playbill, and has interviewed dozens of stars, including Lin Manuel-Miranda, Sarah Brightman, Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Krakowski, Ben Vereen, and others. CBS This Morning called her “Broadway’s most influential fan.” Earlier, she spent 10 years at Sirius XM, leaving her role as director of talent relations in 2014 to launch Laura Heywood Media. She also serves on the board of directors for Story Pirates, a national arts and education nonprofit.
