Dear Members of the Campus Community,

Throughout April and May CHWS will provide a series of mass vaccination events for members of the campus community. We are pleased to begin this week by offering two events with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for participants who are 18 or older on Wednesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 22. The second dose events will be on Wednesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 20.

Due to the timing of the required doses we are strongly recommending that students, faculty and staff who sign up for an appointment on April 21 or 22 are able to attend their second dose appointment on May 19 or 20 with CHWS. All participants should be aware that the second dose appointment is automatically scheduled 28 days later at the same time/day the first dose was administered. Please note that some locations will not allow you to schedule a second dose appointment if you didn’t begin the process there.

Vaccinations are available by appointment only. Please do not sign up for this event if you are unable to attend the second dose event. The vaccine clinics will take place in Upper Marshall Hall from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

To sign up for an appointment:

  1. Go to https://calendly.com/hr_ups/on-campus-vaccine-event.
  2. Bring Puget Sound ID to check in 5 minutes prior to your appointment.
  3. Plan to stay at the vaccine site for 15–30 minutes after receiving the vaccine.

Future clinics will be scheduled weekly depending on vaccine supply. At this time, we do not know when we will be able to offer the Johnson and Johnson one-dose vaccine due to the recommended pause. It is possible that we will only be allocated Moderna, which requires two doses, four weeks apart for the remainder of our events. For this reason, we are not releasing future appointment dates and times until we are able to provide more information regarding the type of vaccine we will receive.

If you are able to seek out a vaccine at a site off-campus, we encourage you to do so. The vaccine locator tool for Washington can be found here: https://vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov/ or https://www.tpchd.org/healthy-people/diseases/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine-information.

Please note that the testing pavilion will be closed on April 21 and 22 in order to conduct the vaccination events. Tests from faculty and staff can still be dropped off at the pavilion during this time. Students, please plan to visit the pavilion anytime during our regular hours this week on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work toward our goal of vaccinating our campus community.

Sincerely,
