Dear Members of the Campus Community,
As co-chairs of the Vice President for Institutional Equity and Diversity search committee, we write to thank the committee members and campus community as a whole for your input and participation throughout the search process. Next week is a big week as we introduce four finalists to campus, and we hope to have a strong turnout for the campus forums.
Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate in this virtual interview process. Please note the following:
- A schedule and Zoom links for each presentation are available at pugetsound.edu/vpdi-search/finalists.
- The first candidate’s materials will be available on Sunday (in advance of interviews beginning on Tuesday). Materials for each candidate will be available 48 hours before their virtual interview.
- If you cannot attend the open campus sessions, please know that video recordings will be available on the secure search website pugetsound.edu/vpdi-search/finalists, along with feedback forms. Please submit feedback after each visit, as the materials will be removed 24 hours after each candidate’s interview date, and the feedback survey will close 28 hours after each candidate’s interview date.
- Your feedback will go directly to the search firm and will also be shared with President Crawford.
We have sought to create an open, respectful and transparent process over the past year, hosting listening sessions with the campus community to inform the development of the position description; meeting with community partners; posting an online survey to solicit feedback; soliciting your nominations for the position, and providing updated communications.
This is an exciting time in the search process. We welcome your questions, greatly appreciate your feedback, and look forward to seeing you at next week’s interviews.
Sincerely,
Uchenna Baker, Ph.D. | Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
Amy Ryken, Ph.D. | Dean and Distinguished Professor in the School of Education
