Dear Logger community:
I'm excited to announce that the University of Puget Sound will welcome Abbie Lacsina as associate vice president for constituent relations, effective May 2024. Working closely with senior leaders across the institution, Lacsina will act as a liaison between internal and external constituents, while fostering a culture of volunteerism and philanthropy across generations of Loggers.
Lacsina is no stranger to Puget Sound, having worked at the university since 2005 when she was named assistant director of annual giving, before becoming associate director in 2008. In 2010, she was named director of annual giving and served in that role for 12 years. During that time she led the Annual Giving team through the launch of the Logger Day Challenge in 2017. She also helped secure more than $30 million for the Puget Sound Fund and developed strong relationships with hundreds of Loggers through her work with the Alumni Council, Parents & Families Council, and members of the Board of Trustees. In January 2023, she served as a Development Officer before stepping into the interim-associate vice president for constituent relations position in October. Lacsina earned her bachelor of arts degree in Psychology & Environmental Studies from Western Washington.
Lacsina was chosen through a highly competitive national search. Please join us in recognizing the members of the search committee for their hard work and deliberation. In particular, I want to recognize Nick Kontogeorgopoulos and Maggie Mittuch, the co-chairs of the search committee, for their exceptional leadership and dedication throughout the search process.
The committee includes:
- Alan Krause, professor and director, Business & Leadership Program
- Nick Kontogeorgopoulos, professor of international political economy and dean of Experiential Learning
- Miriam Chitiga, senior director, Office for Intercultural Engagement
- Maggie Mittuch, associate vice president for Student Financial Services
- Veronica Craker, director of media relations, Office of Marketing & Communications
Led by a visionary president, a dedicated leadership team, and fueled by passionate students and exceptional faculty, Puget Sound is well-positioned to achieve the ambitious goals of its 10-year strategic plan, "Leadership for a Changing World." This plan calls for deeper community engagement and aims to establish the University of Puget Sound as a leader among national liberal arts and sciences institutions. Lacsina’s role is instrumental in supporting the strategic plan as she leads the three offices that compose Constituent Relations: Alumni & Parent Relations, Annual Giving, and Information Services.
Please join me in welcoming Abbie to this new role!
Victor Martin | Vice President for University Relations
