Dear Campus Community,

After a highly competitive national search, University of Puget Sound will welcome Staishy Bostick Siem as associate vice president for marketing and communications. Staishy currently serves as Development Communications Director for the University of Washington, and carries 25 years of experience. She has served in several key roles at the UW, including Assistant Dean for Marketing, Communications, and Strategic Initiatives at the School of Law and Director of Marketing and Communications at the School of Nursing.

Among her accomplishments at UW, Staishy has been a leader in building and implementing integrated marketing strategies, elevating the UW brand, and collaborating with internal partners to build and lead the implementation of strategic plans. Staishy’s work to increase internal and external stakeholder buy-in, build two-way communication vehicles between campus communities, and empower Marketing & Communication teams has resulted in increased brand awareness, improved enrollment outcomes, expanded alumni engagement, and growth in philanthropic support.

Staishy earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington and a certificate in business administration from University of Washington Foster School of Business. Staishy also lends her expertise in a volunteer capacity to many nonprofit organizations that share her commitment to education, civil rights, social justice, and environmental stewardship.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our search committee for their hard work and deliberation. The committee includes:

  • Abbie Lacsina, Search Committee Chair, Associate Vice President for Constituent Relations
