To the Class of 2018!

Choose your path illustration

I hope that the months since graduation have been filled with family, friends, the making of new memories, and reflecting on old ones. I hope that the season of transition that ultimately follows graduation has brought you to a new place of growth, joy, and hope.

Throughout your time at Puget Sound you contributed in many ways to improve the Puget Sound experience for your peers and future Loggers. You did this by serving on committees, building and leading campus clubs, supporting your peers experiencing pain or grief, exercising your voice through activism, and in countless other ways. You not only obtained a Puget Sound education, but you actively worked to improve the Puget Sound educational experience. Thank you for all the ways that you’ve served our campus community.

Additionally, many of you gave to the Senior Class Gift Campaign, through which you helped to provide much needed financial aid to Loggers, for generations to come. Of particular importance, many gave to the identity based scholarships. This was a new opportunity that allowed seniors to support students that are all too often marginalized on our campus. Thank you for giving of your financial resources in order to improve the accessibility of a Puget Sound education.

Wherever your post-collegiate plans take you, I hope you will continue to find ways to contribute your time, voice, financial resources, and experience to the Puget Sound community. As active alumni we have the opportunity to support those who follow our footsteps. I look forward to seeing all the ways you’ll positively impact the Puget Sound community.

Thank you for your hard work, and thank you, in advance, for the many ways you will give back to Puget Sound in the years to come. Because Once a Logger, Always a Logger.

Warmest regards,

Doug Palmer ’18
