This course takes a holistic approach to the investigation of craft production in the ancient Mediterranean. Students learn about ancient techniques for working stone, clay, metal, fiber, and more, as well as how archaeologists and ancient historians
study and reconstruct those techniques. In addition, significant attention is given to exploring how craft production shaped identities, societies, and environments in the past.
