Briana has been a practicing mental health counselor for many years and has spent time working in outpatient settings, home-based services, community mental health, schools, and hospitals. Briana has a passion for the counseling field and has made the leap from clinical practice into higher education to share her enthusiasm and excitement for the profession with counseling students. Outside of her career, Briana enjoys going to concerts, cooking and baking, riding her Peloton, and spending time with her husband, three children, and pets.

Briana’s research and professional interests include exploring the relationship between neurodivergence and trauma, creating opportunities for accessibility for clients with disabilities, professional identity and self-care for counselors-in-training, sexual and gender identity exploration and development, group and family therapy, counseling adolescents and young adults through life transitions, and person-centered counseling through a humanistic-existential lens.
