Associate Professor and Chair, Psychology, and Director, Faculty Development Center
I joined the University of Puget Sound faculty in the summer of 2013 as an assistant professor in psychology. As a comparative psychologist, my areas of interest and research lie in nonhuman animal behavior. I have worked with a variety of species, including bottlenose dolphins, capuchin monkeys, and Harris’ hawks. Both my master’s thesis and my dissertation explored an African Grey parrot’s use of speech to regulate and manipulate her social relationship with her owner.
