Helen Nagy

Professor Emerita, Art and Art History

Dr. Helen Nagy, a specialist of Greek, Etruscan, and Roman art and archaeology, received her degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, and Bryn Mawr College. Dr. Nagy held positions at Western Illinois University, the American Academy in Rome, and the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome. Her publications include Corpus Speculorum Etruscorum, USA, Volume 5: West Coast Collections with Evelyn E. Bell (2021); The Collection of Antiquities of the American Academy in Rome (co-edited with Larissa Bonfante, 2015); and New Perspectives on Etruria and Early Rome (co-edited with Sinclair Bell, 2009). She also authored numerous articles on Etruscan votives and mirrors. Professor Nagy was the Cinelli Lecturer of the American Institute of Archaeology in 2014/2015. She also served as a trustee of the American Academy in Rome.
