Jay Hildebrand

Prof. Hildebrand is an award-winning classical guitarist and educator based in Washington State. He holds a DMA in classical guitar from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Music in classical guitar performance from the world-renowned guitar program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Currently teaching guitar at the University of Puget Sound, Prof. Hildebrand also operates a private teaching studio in Gig Harbor, where he shares his expertise with students of all levels.

As an accomplished performer, he has gained recognition in prestigious competitions, including winning first prize at the Northwest Guitar Festival and Competition in 2014. Prof. Hildebrand has also been a finalist at the Indiana International Guitar Competition and the Wilson Center International Guitar Competition, among others. His teachers and mentors include distinguished guitarists René Izquierdo, Michael Partington, Dr. Maja Radovanlija, and Dr. Paul Grove.
