Mark Yeary

Adjunct Professor of Music Theory

Mark Yeary is an educator, musician, and scholar whose research draws upon the perception of pitch, timbre, and pitch simultaneities. His research interests include the analysis of unusual sonorities in the works of Stravinsky and Messiaen, the roles of timbre and context in the aural pedagogy of harmonic music, and the psychoacoustic analysis of voice in recorded popular music. Mark performs regularly as a singer, bassist, and arranger with local choirs and instrumental ensembles, and he teaches private lessons in voice, guitar, and bass.
