Robert Boyles

Clinical Professor, Physical Therapy

Robert Boyles is involved in research in the field of manual physical therapy of the spine and extremities. His primary areas of instruction are in orthopedics, which includes evaluation and intervention; manual therapy treatment techniques for the spine and extremities; introduction to joint mobilization; spinal manipulation; and clinical radiology. He also serves as clinical instructor in the Puget Sound physical therapy clinic. Prof. Boyles has written widely for professional journals, including articles for Annals of Internal Medicine, Spine, Physical Therapy JournalJournal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy and Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy. He lectures across the country and internationally at conferences and continuing education forums. Prof. Boyles is a certified orthopedic clinical specialist and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is a 2010 and 2015 recipient of the Rose Award for Excellence in Research awarded by the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
