Puget Sound students and an AmeriCorps member work with Tacoma Public Middle and Secondary students to tackle tough subjects and help with homework and teaching effective study habits that will serve students throughout their academic careers. Tutors are trained in cultural competency, confidentiality and issues related to working with minors, enabling them to build rapport with their students and allowing students to interact comfortably with their tutors in a college setting. Sessions will be held every Tuesday from 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the Campus Welcome Center.

We regret that Tuesday Night Tutoring sessions are currently on hold.  This decision was not made lightly, and comes as a direct result of unforeseen and significant staffing shortages.  Despite our best efforts to recruit and allocate resources, we are unable to ensure the program’s successful execution and maintain the quality we strive for.

We understand that this news will be deeply disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or disruption this may cause.  We are currently exploring alternative solutions and will post the program’s continuation date here.
