34th Annual Bethel Schneebeck Organ Recital

Add to Calendar 2024-09-15 14:00:00 2024-09-15 15:00:00 34th Annual Bethel Schneebeck Organ Recital Join us as American concert organist Wyatt Smith performs the 34th Annual Bethel Schneebeck Organ Recital, featuring Dawn Padula, mezzo-soprano and Jack Kuntz '26, piano. The program will include music by Portman, Sandresky, Shostakovich, Dussek, and a world premiere song cycle by Rob Hutchinson. Mrs. Schneebeck, Puget Sound parent, grandparent, and friend, was a long-time community leader along with her husband, Ed Schneebeck. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree in 1982, and in 1989, the Fritts organ in Kilworth Memorial Chapel was dedicated and named for Mrs. Schneebeck. This concert is presented as part of the School of Music Keyboard Series, and is free and open to the public. All are welcome to a reception in the Kilworth Memorial Chapel basement following the program.                            Wyatt Smith, Dawn Padula, and Jack Kuntz American concert organist Wyatt Smith, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, performs with “nuance, polish, and personality” (Michael Barone, APM Pipedreams). He maintains an active concert schedule, performing throughout the United States and Europe, and his performances have been heard on American Public Media’s Pipedreams. Dawn Padula is Puget Sound’s director of vocal studies and Opera Theater, and co-director of Songwriting.  Jack Kuntz '26 is a junior majoring in piano performance at the University Puget Sound, where he is a student of Ronaldo Rolim. He is a winner of Puget Sound's 2023 Concert-Aria Competition.
