"Buffalo Soldiers" Screening and Post-Film Discussion With Filmmaker Dru Holley
Tacoma Film Festival's Audience Award winner, "Buffalo Soldiers," will have a free screening followed by a post-film talk with creator/director Dru Holley. This program packed two theaters at The Grand Cinema, and its post-film discussion, as well. The film was recently picked up by PBS, and this will be an insightful opportunity to learn how African American cavalry were on the front lines in the American Indian Wars, followed by overseas deployments as the vanguards of American foreign military power in the Spanish-American War, ranging from San Juan Hill, Cuba, to Mexico and the Philippines. Presented by ASUPS Student Programs.
