Info Session: Teach For America - Hawai'i
Teach For America is a leadership development organization for those who want to co-create a more just world alongside young people in their communities. Today we are a network of nearly 70,000 leaders who started in the classroom and remain in lifelong pursuit of the vision that one day, all children will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
"TFA continuously seeks leaders with deep commitment to their communities and a strong desire to impact the inequities that exist within them. Teach for America Hawaiʻi works to stay grounded in local context, culture, and the needs of our communities. We are hungry to be in relationship with folks who embody our regional values of kuleana, ʻohana, and aloha, and are seeking a diverse cohort of folks with these values to prepare Hawaiʻi’s students to be authentic leaders of their communities through experience teaching in the K-12 setting.
We recognize that the individuals with the deepest understanding of these values and commitment to these communities are those who are inherently part of them. With that in mind, we are eager to connect with students with ties to Hawaiʻi as well as those who identify as AANHPI and/or kamaʻāina.
The Career and Employment Services (CES) department at the University of Puget Sound is graciously hosting our Native recruitment team on Friday, November 22 from 12– 1pm in Thomas 366. Please join us to learn more and talk-story!"
