TACOMA, Wash. – University of Puget Sound students had another excellent year in terms of winning national awards, securing two Fulbright Scholarships, two Watson Fellowships, three French Government Teaching Assistantships, two Princeton-in-Asia Fellowships, a National Science Foundation Scholarship, and a Udall Scholarship Honorable Mention Award. Over the past eleven years, Puget Sound students have earned 97 national scholarships for their academic and personal achievements.
“The students who won these awards, and those who came so close to winning, have been devoted not only to setting high goals for themselves and then surpassing them, but to pouring their energy into projects that serve others,” said Sharon Chambers-Gordon, director of the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Fellowships. “Wherever they choose to go from here, they are sure to leave behind more than they take with them. We wish them, and all of our graduates, great years ahead.”
