Dear Member of the Puget Sound Community,

Congratulations on another successful semester! With finals week and the university’s 131st Commencement behind us, we turn toward next year and our plans for continuing students.

The past year provided extraordinary opportunities for our students to grow both academically and in their preparation for life after college. Our vision is to support every student to develop their creativity and critical thinking by providing access to enriching educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.  The university’s commitment that all students will graduate having participated in a substantial experiential learning opportunity means that all Loggers leave Puget Sound prepared to put their education into practice – with the knowledge, skills, and experiences that employers and graduate/professional schools most value.

The university is committed to continuing to provide our students with a high-quality, high-impact education. To support this objective, the university’s total charges for 2023-24 will increase by 4.00%, among Puget Sound’s lowest increases in 50 years. Tuition is set at $59,340; and average room and board at $15,040. The new Comprehensive Fee of $560 directly supports ASUPS student-run programming and high impact areas of mental health access, technology upgrades, and programs that broadly support our students' sense of belonging. The total direct cost of attendance, including room and board, will be $74,940.

In keeping with our commitment to help our students and families manage the substantial investment in a college education, we continue to support our institutional financial aid budget and our total financial aid support will surpass $50 million. As always, each student’s financial need is evaluated annually, and Student Financial Services staff are happy to assist you as you formulate plans for next year. They can be contacted at 253.879.3214 or SFS@pugetsound.edu, or visited in the lower level of Jones Hall.

Please know how much we value the investments you have made in Puget Sound and in the rigorous and transformative education that will develop the next generation of leaders, thinkers, adventurers, artists, civic leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, musicians, scientists, and more. For graduates in the Class of 2022, this has translated into:

  • rewarding career paths with organizations including Microsoft, Nintendo, the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Seattle Children’s Hospital;
  • high acceptance rates at graduate, medical, and law schools (Puget Sound is ranked among the top 10% of small colleges nationwide for students who go on to earn doctoral degrees);
  • engagement in service activities with the Peace Corps, Teach for America, and a variety of nonprofit organizations; and
  • opportunities to conduct research, travel, and work abroad through programs like the Watson Fellowship and Fulbright Scholarship (Puget Sound is one of the top producers of Fulbright recipients in the U.S. – including six members of the Class of 2022).

We are committed to the success of each and every student who pursues their education at Puget Sound, and to continual improvement in helping students achieve their dreams. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time should you have questions or concerns, and thank you again for being part of the Logger community.

Sincerely,

Isiaah Crawford, PhD
