This is the Sound of Community.

A Puget Sound education nurtures the full, well-rounded student. We’re not just thinking about what you’ll learn in the classroom—we want to make sure your life on campus is just as meaningful. Imagine meeting a group of people who share your interests, identity, and/or passions. You become good friends, take trips together, help each other with homework, live together, and experience the whole of the college experience together. That’s why we believe in Living-Learning Communities!

In Living-Learning Communities (LLCs), groups of students with similar identities and/or academic interests live together and develop a deeper sense of community and academic success.

What does joining an LLC look like? You will:

  • Live together in a residence hall with the support of a dedicated Residence Assistant (RA)
  • Take a class together and have the opportunity to collaborate on homework and projects outside of class
  • Meet with a Faculty Advisor to discuss academics and your own educational trajectory
  • Enjoy hands-on learning excursions, field trips, and social events

Why join an LLC? You will:

  • Immediately connect and find belonging with other students who share your interests
  • Go deeper in your academic journey with one-on-one support from staff
  • Be inspired and challenged by peers pursuing similar paths to yours
  • Increase your rate of college completion, success, and persistence due to community support

There are several LLCs at Puget Sound. Click to learn more and apply!
