Concerto-Aria Competition Final Round

Music students present their very best solo performances as they compete in this public Final Round of the annual School of Music Concerto-Aria Competition, hosted by Ronaldo Rolim, assistant professor of piano.

The Concerto-Aria Competition has been an honored tradition in the School of Music since 1981. Students participate each year in this highly competitive program that highlights their work as musical soloists.

Lecture: Alexis Devine, Author

Alexis was a longtime creator of wearable art before her sheepadoodle, Bunny, known as “What About Bunny” on social media, became an internet sensation in the fall of 2020. Bunny is part of an ongoing canine cognition research study at the Comparative Cognition Lab at UCSD. Alexis is a Licensed Family Dog Mediator, Fear Free Certified Professional, and Certified Canine Enrichment Tech­nician.

Campus Film - The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

The story of Coriolanus Snow, years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem. He is young, very determined, and though the Snow family has fallen on hard times, Coriolanus sees a chance for a change in his fortunes when he is chosen to be a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games only to have his elation dashed when he is assigned to mentor a girl tribute named Lucy Gray Baird from the impoverished District 12. Presented by ASUPS Campus Films.

Puget Sound Wind Ensemble

Join us for the Puget Sound Wind Ensemble's performance celebrating the career of Flute Professor Karla Flygare, conducted by Gerard Morris. The program will include works featuring flute by Catherine McMichael, Joel Puckett, David Maslanka, and Paul Hindemith; with alumni and guest performers.

Following the program, join us in the Student Union Building Rotunda for a festive, post-concert reception. 

Noon Convocation Student Recitals

Enjoy a variety of short performances by Puget Sound music students. This week's event will feature performances by Natalie Worthy '25 and Haley Storey '25, soprano, with Jessica Hall piano; Julia Vahey '24, flute, and Liam Abbott '26, cello with Isabella Jie, piano; and Maia Connelly '26, trumpet, with Jinshil Yi, piano.
