Lunch concert: "The PlayTonics"

A love of jazz, of playing at Farmers Markets, and musical adventures throughout the Northwest, the Playtonics feature talented musicians from all over the US, as well as KNKX's Paige Hansen, plying their vocals and horns and now packing venues including recently at Tacoma's Spanish Ballroom. They are creative wordsmiths, too, and their performances feature originals which will be available onsale at following their lunchtime performance.

TANGO!

Tango is a mini-residency presented by three of the northern hemisphere's leading practitioners, led by choreographer Chelsea Eng, with support from tango masters Joe Powers and Count Glover.

LU'AU 2023, Ka 'Ohana me ke Aloha

The northwest's oldest annual lu'au and show returns to the UPS Fieldhouse. Now in it's 53rd year and produced by UPS's Hawaii club and students, you can skip the airfares and luggage, as this family-friendly event will transport you to the Islands and back, a fun evening which will include those imports and goodies you ask for, for sale at the country store during intermission.

Lunch concert; SWEET MOTHER

Micaela Cooley and Emelie Peine make up the unique cello/banjo/guitar/washboard combo that is Sweet Mother. Playing original songs, traditional old time tunes, and contemporary covers, Sweet Mother brings haunting harmonies and unique arrangements that draw on influences from Gillian Welch to the midcentury field recordings of Harry Smith and Alan Lomax. Sweet Mother can be seen playing acoustic shows around the Puget Sound region.
