Anthony Sy OTD ‘23, a graduate of Puget Sound’s inaugural Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) class. The saying “the vinyl isn’t final” embodies the ethos of disaesthetics in hip hop where a record is not viewed as a closed and complete object. Rather, the record is in play, spinning, open to possibilities. The view that objects can be taken apart and put back together is a fundamental principle of hip hop dramaturgy. In this interactive session, we will explore the elements and aesthetics of hip hop and how they can be used to augment approaches to dramatic writing.
