Dear Campus Community,

This summer, Technology Services has been hard at work performing critical upgrades and improvements to our technology infrastructure as part of our Technology Services Strategic Roadmap. These updates are designed to enhance your experience and make our systems more efficient and user-friendly.

Introducing Your New Support Portal

We are excited to launch our new service catalog and ticketing system. This system is simple to use—just click the “Support Portal” tile on login.pugetsound.edu to submit a help request, search our knowledge base for answers, and track the status of your existing requests. We believe this will streamline your interactions with our support teams and improve response times.

Classroom Technology Upgrades for a Better Learning Experience

This summer, we refreshed several classrooms with a revised audio/visual design focused on simplifying and enhancing reliability. The upgrades include a robust communication network between AV components, an improved audio system, physical control buttons instead of a touchscreen, USB-C compatibility, and a standardized hardware stack that minimizes classroom downtime. Technology Services regularly visits classrooms across campus to stay ahead of any potential issues that may disrupt class time. However, issues may arise between our visits and we need help from our Puget Sound community to inform us of any issues with the classroom technology. Issues with Classroom Technology can be reported by simply visiting our support portal or calling the Service Desk.

Major Refresh of Our Student Printer Fleet

We’re also pleased to announce a major overhaul of our student printer fleet, a critical resource that hadn’t seen a significant update in nearly a decade. The entire fleet has been replaced with new Konica Minolta printers as well as the introduction of two additional color printers (Weyerhaeuser and Wheelock), featuring touchscreen interfaces that make it easy to upload documents to our PaperCut Web Print server and print to any student printer on campus. Just log in, upload your file, and print—it's that easy! Learn more about PaperCut and get started below.

We hope these updates enhance your experience on campus. If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Service Desk.
