This is the sound of turning over every stone.

In a world where it’s easy to cling to beliefs, we are interested in debating, learning more, changing our opinions, and expanding our thought process. Curious minds, devil’s advocates, Wikipedia rabbit hole dwellers, and unquenchable questioners: welcome home!

Anywhere the law is involved, we have questions to explore: sports, medicine, fashion, business, and the environment are just a few examples. This community is committed to interrogating the past and present, because both are critically important to shape the things to come. Join us for mind-expanding excursions, lively debates, guidance from Professors Lisa Johnson and Brad Reich, and a friendly group to support you through everything from homework to career to the latest question on your mind.

“To ask the right question is already half the solution to a problem.” - Carl Jung

Meet Professor Brad Reich

Teaching in the School of Business & Leadership, Professor Reich regularly writes law review articles addressing "cyberprocreation," or using the Internet to create human life through mechanisms such as sperm donation, egg donation, embryo acquisition, and surrogacy services. He also writes on legal issues in sports—including the National Letter of Intent (the document many student athletes sign obligating them to play for a school for a year in exchange for financial aid); Title IX (a federal law addressing gender discrimination in athletics and education); and the National Football League’s concussion liability issues. scholarship strives for utilitarian value; he wants his work to have genuine use and application for diverse audiences.

Meet Professor Lisa Johnson

Professor Johnson teaches law and legal studies in business. She has written extensively on the topic and has published monographs, articles, chapters, textbooks, and case studies.

Professors Reich and Johnson look forward to working with the Deliberations Living Learning Community.

Hailey Young

Meet the RA: Hailey Young (she/her)

Hi everyone! Welcome to Puget Sound! My name is Hailey, and I am the Resident Assistant for the Deliberations LLC. I am a Natural Sciences major with an emphasis in Biology, and a Spanish minor. I'm thrilled to be an RA for the Deliberations cohort because it's an awesome and unique experience for us to all be able to share and have such a strong connection with one another; and I really want to facilitate that! I'm so excited for this year and want to help everyone have a great experience. I'm here if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to talk. I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
