DPT Research Symposium

The class of 2024 research projects will be presented in platform and poster format with time for interactions with students and networking with peers followed by a Clinical Education forum. Free Continuing Education credits will be awarded—registration will be limited for the first 50 clinical education community partners.

Dr. George Tomlin Evidence Symposium

The School of Occupational Therapy invites you to attend the Dr. George Tomlin Evidence Symposium to be held on Thursday, May 11, from 6–9pm in Harned Hall.  

With a diverse offering of research-based evidence projects presented by second-year OT students and doctoral capstone presentations from third-year OTD students, you will enjoy an evening of collaboration, community, and conversation surrounding the practice and process of research in OT.  

Night at the Museum: Birds, Bees, & Flowering Trees

Come celebrate Spring with our museum specimens! Learn about bees & other pollinators, birds & spring migration, eggs, flowering plants, & more. Featuring special guests from the Puget Sound Estuarium.

Join us Thursday, April 13th (6 - 7:30 PM) at the University of Puget Sound Campus (located at 1500 N Warner St, Tacoma, WA 98416) in Thompson Hall room 295.

This is a free, family-friendly drop-in event. University of Puget Sound no longer requires masks or proof of vaccination for visitors on campus.

Exercise is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC)

Enjoy a campus walk to celebrate spring and promote a culture of physical activity to improve health-related fitness. The Puget Sound Exercise is Medicine on Campus team invites all members of the campus community to participate in this fitness walk during the common hour.

Loggers Pitch-In (featuring DIRT)

Join Sustainability Services on Sunday, April 16th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for restoration work, including weeding invasive species and planting native plants, in the Thompson Forest. Participants will get the chance to learn more about invasive and native plant species on campus from Carrie Woods, Professor of Biology, and DIRT the band (KUPS) will be performing a live concert!! Lunch and snacks will be provided!

Environmental Optimism Speaker

Join Sustainability Services X IPE X EPDM on Tuesday, April 11th from 6 PM - 7:30 PM in Upper Marshall for speaker Mary Anne Hitt! Mary Anne is a Senior Director of Climate Imperative, a foundation working to cut emissions at the speed and scale needed to confront climate change. Prior to joining Climate Imperative, she was with the Sierra Club for 12 years where she served as National Director of Campaigns, and also worked for a decade as Director of the Beyond Coal Campaign, recognized as one of the most successful environmental campaigns in history!

OT Program Red Cross Blood Drive

The Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) is hosting a blood drive event in partnership with the American Red Cross. This event will occur on April 28th, 2023 from 10:00am-3:00pm in the Murray Boardroom in the Student Center. Our goal is to have 45+ blood donors! We need all blood types to donate as there is a nationwide blood supply shortage so please donate if you can and spread the word! Your support is appreciated!
