All Puget Sound students have their strengths, their victories, their high points along the way. Here are a few of the ways in which some of our students thrive and enjoy honors and accolades in their academic journeys.
Academic Honor Societies
Puget Sound provides many opportunities to recognize student achievement through membership in academic honor societies, including the exclusive Phi Beta Kappa.
Dean’s List
The Dean's List honors students with grade a point average of 3.70 or higher during any given semester. To qualify, a student must have three or more graded units, no incomplete grades for the semester, and no withdrawal from an academic course.
Fellowship Recipients
Many Puget Sound students challenge themselves to apply for national and international fellowships and scholarships for undergraduate and post-graduate research and experiences. Recent years have included a number of Fulbrights, Watsons, various international teaching scholarships, Goldwaters, and many more.
Academic Convocation
Academic Convocation is an annual event to honor students’ exceptional academic achievements. The ceremony takes place during Commencement weekend, but includes honors awarded to students in all class years.
Summer Research Grant Recipients
The University of Puget Sound offers many opportunities for students to engage in research and travel, whether in the natural sciences, in the social sciences, in the arts, or in the humanities.
