The University of Puget Sound offers many opportunities for students to engage in research, whether in the natural sciences, arts, humanities, or social sciences. This page provides information about how students can apply for research awards and summer research grants to support their research projects or research-related travel.

UEC Student Research Awards. These awards provide up to $500 to support direct costs related to student research projects. Applications will be considered throughout the year on a rolling basis, with preference for applications submitted by April 15.

Summer Research Grants in Science and Mathematics. These grants provide a stipend to support students conducting independent research in science or mathematics for at least 10 weeks, full-time, during the summer. Deadline is March 2.

Summer Research Grants in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. These grants provide a stipend to support students conducting independent research in the arts, humanities, or social sciences for at least 10 weeks, full time, during the summer. Deadline is March 2.
 

On-Campus Housing for Summer Research Students

Summer Research Scholars are eligible to reside in campus housing while conducting research. Information about summer research housing is available on the Residence Life Summer Housing webpage.

Please note that housing reservations will be made for students only after confirmation of their Summer Research Scholar status and are contingent upon availability.
