Oppenheimer Hall, constructed in 1958 and formerly known as University Hall, was named in honor of Trustee Emerita Deanna ’80 and John ’80 Oppenheimer P’11, P’14 for their lifelong service and support of Puget Sound. The Oppenheimers, who graduated from University of Puget Sound and went on to high-profile careers in banking and hospitality, have been actively engaged alumni since the early 1980s. The dedication of the hall was held in conjunction with the Oppenheimer’s 35th class reunion. The ivy-clad, coed residence overlooks the college’s North Quad, a popular student recreational area on the northeast corner of campus.
