Your discovery or fresh insight is waiting to be found. At Puget Sound, undergraduates make real contributions to the liberal arts and sciences through summer research projects. Working closely with a faculty mentor, you’ll conduct high-level, independent work and expand your understanding of your field while growing your professional skills.

What to Expect

After collaborating with your faculty advisor to craft a project proposal and your project is approved, you’ll spend 10 weeks conducting full-time research, and then present your findings in the fall. Students who receive summer research awards are provided a stipend to cover their living expenses and may also apply for additional grant funding for research expenses or travel.

Applications for Summer Research Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (AHSS), and Science and Mathematics (SM) are due early in the spring semester. Use the links below to learn more.
