Study abroad programs are offered in many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Oceania. Study Abroad Options
The University of Puget Sound offers a variety of options when it comes to participating in international programs all over the world. Discover the possibilities below:
- Faculty Led Study Abroad
In up to five classes each year, faculty lead their students on a short term study abroad during which students will enroll in EXLN 297. This experience typically pairs with a discipline specific course the prior semester that will prepare students to get the most out of their time abroad. Experiences range in length, typically two to four weeks.
- PacRim
This signature Puget Sound program leads students through several countries in the Pacific Rim. Students will apply to the program, take PacRim courses the semester before going abroad, and travel abroad for a semester with a cohort of Puget Sound students led by their PacRim faculty.
- Approved Study Abroad Programs

Earning Credits Abroad
As a study abroad student, we’ll work with you to determine how the courses you take during your program will apply to your degree requirements. You may receive credits toward your major, minor, or electives depending on your program and course of study.
Costs and Financial Aid
For a semester or year-long study abroad program, you’ll pay your regular Puget Sound tuition, housing, and government fee. Some study abroad programs include meals, charged at the regular university rate. You will also pay an additional study abroad fee of $700. You can use your financial aid toward your study abroad costs, because we believe cost shouldn’t prevent you from having an impactful international experience.
