They are Puget Sound.

The Orientation Program Coordinators (Coords for short!) are four student leaders that help plan the Orientation Program every year! From planning leader training to organizing transportation for 600+ people to working with countless on and off-campus groups and organizations, they do it all!

The Coords for 2020 are:

Emelia Witt (She/Her/Hers)

ewitt@pugetsound.edu

Emelia hails from Portland, Oregon. She is a senior majoring in Communication Studies and Environmental Policy with a Spanish minor. Whether she’s in Divs, the library, or her off campus house, Emelia is always surrounded by friends. She is the current President of the Jewish Student Union (JSU) but you could also find her singing in chorale, busting a move in RDG, or whipping up some beverages at Diversions Cafe! Emelia is looking forward to getting to know everyone better during Orientation including the leaders, incoming students, and her fellow coords!

Frankie Gromely (He/Him/His)

fgromely@pugetsound.edu

Frankie is a senior from Minneapolis, MN and is majoring in Politics and Government and Theatre. He has always enjoyed making new things and when he isn’t busy studying or performing, you can find him crafting, doodling or fixing things. He also loves wearing costumes, smelling flowers, cracking jokes, making funny faces, swimming in Jones fountain and making people laugh! After he graduates, he plans to stay in Washington and act, so be sure to see some of his shows during his senior year at UPS! He is thrilled to welcome new students to a place that he has found to be so special!

Christina Pelletier (She/Her/Hers)

cpelletier@pugetsound.edu

Christina is from the small beach town of Scituate, Massachusetts. She is a senior studying communications with a minor in math. If Christina’s not studying you may find her disk jockeying reggae at the KUPS booth, dancing at RDG, or planning wicked fun activities on campus as the new popular entertainment programmer. Christina loves the salty air whether that’s at Owen Beach, Point Ruston, or a quick trip to the coast. Christina is also a devoted friend. She loves to study in Diversions because shes almost guaranteed to get distracted by a friendly face. You can always find her on Saturdays cheering on her friends at the Logger football games! Christina is looking forward to getting to know the orientation team through out this process and is excited to build a successful program for the new students during this unprecedented time.

Deryn Gersoff (She/Her/Hers)

dgersoff@pugetsound.edu

Deryn is a senior from Santa Barbara, California, studying Sociology, Anthropology and Asian Studies. On campus, she is a Puget Sound Outdoors leader, a part of Greek Life, a member of COMBS and garden club, and she also enjoys immersing herself in the broader Tacoma community. If she isn’t distracting people in the library or walking around the SUB, you can find her hiking and camping in the nearby outdoors, jumping into the Sound, surfing at the coast, rollerblading on Ruston Way, wave boarding, doing yoga, learning how to rock climb, or making art. Woohoo! She is excited to work with leaders and welcome new students to her favorite place!

Meredith Folensbee (She/Her/Hers)

mfolensbee@pugetsound.edu

This is Meredith! Yay! As a Texan, Meredith continues to enjoy the rainy Tacoma weather and the validation that her accent is not very noticeable to her PNW friends. A senior studying History, Sociology and Anthropology, Meredith is no stranger to the library, but aside from schoolwork, she can be found working at the on-campus pizza parlor called The Cellar, writing and performing comedy sketches with the UT Sketch Comedy Club, and walking down Union Ave with her Greek Life friends. Some of Meredith’s other interests include playing outside, playing inside, and the cornbread at the sub! She can’t wait to vicariously relive her first year at Puget Sound through all the new students! Yahoo!
